About Peyton & Byrne
A bakery café on Great Portland Street, run by Modern British Bakeries, which bought the Peyton and Byrne shops when the original bakery company went into administration in 2018. It sells British-style cakes, tarts, biscuits and savoury bakes made in its own kitchen. It is a good call for birthdays, weddings and other occasions – bespoke cakes usually need ordering a few days to weeks in advance. Regulars tend to come back for handmade cakes, tarts, biscuits and pies.
Peyton & Byrne has not published regular opening hours in the sources we use, so it is worth calling ahead or checking social media before a special trip. Food hygiene officers from Westminster rated it 5 – Very good when they inspected on 28 July 2023.
Great Portland Street Underground station sits around 108 m away – allow 2 minutes if you walk. 8 other bakeries sit within about ten minutes' walk, which makes Fitzrovia a good area to compare loaves and cakes. It is about 1.3 mi from the centre of London. On-site details we know about: outdoor seating and indoor seating.
